Unfortunately I can't make it to my weekly performance at Apple Box tomorrow, but please catch me either of the following two weeks for a preview of music I will be playing at the lecture-concert at Forest Hill Concerts. For more information on this event, happening Sunday July 12 from 6:30 to 8:00, please contact me directly or visit http://fhcfa.org. Thanks.
Please know that I will be giving a lecture-concert on the concept of inter-instrumentality in the music of J.S. Bach at Forest Hill Concerts in San Francisco on Sunday July 12, 2015 at 6:30 pm. Along with this announcement, I would like to share that my seven-string guitar arrangement for the E-major prelude from the first of the two books of the Well-Tempered Clavier is available through OnlineSheetMusic.com. Please click this <a href="http://www.onlinesheetmusic.com/alphonso-brown-with-mp3-p450615.aspx>link</a> for more information on the arrangement of the prelude. For more information on the lecture-concert event, please contact me directly through the contact page on my website (the site you are viewing right now). Many thanks.
Hi, everyone. I hope this finds you all well. In preparation for my upcoming lecture-concert on the music of J.S. Bach, I have arranged his Prelude in E Major from the Well-Tempered Clavier Book 1 for seven-string guitar. The sheet music is available at Tall Toad Music in Petaluma (there is only one copy there, so please let me know if you pick it up so that I can replace it!), and will soon be available through OnlineSheetMusic.com. Please be in touch, comment on this blog, stop by Apple Box Café Fridays at 12:00 noon to see me perform, and however else we can engage! Many thanks.
Hi, guys. It's my pleasure to announce that Tim Chatwood will be joining me for improvisations at Apple Box Café this week. He will have a percussion set that includes bells and shakers. I hope to see you there. Many thanks!
The Obama administration is holding top secret meetings on a transnational agreement that affects much more than just trade. The TPP will have an impact on your life. Period. Let's hear what it's about, shall we? Well, we can't. Wikileaks has released four outdated chapters, but we all lack vital information on how policy will be shaped in the coming years. Obama, what do you have to hide? Who did your drones kill today? It's kill list Tuesday, after all. So what happened? How many innocent bystanders were killed, and how many survivors have been converted to an anti-American stance as a result? I'm not the only one who wants answers.
